SABC Karoo Roadshow
10 April 2008
The world of marketing is transforming vigorously with regards to the vast choice in communication channels and steering away from conventional marketing techniques. The consumer-oriented South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), took cognizance of this fact when they launched new low power transmitters in the towns of Prince Albert, Nelspoort, Merweville, Leeu-gamka and Klaarstroom to bring better quality TV and radio reception to these parts of the Karoo. They turned to a more interactive experience whereby they communicated their brand in a professional, time- and cost effective way to the consumers and engaged them in the experience.
Anointed M Entertainment Enterprises (Pty) Ltd. was the obvious choice when it came to professional mobile stages. The SABC used the SLPro to create this, still-talked-about experiential marketing. With more than 160 sq.m. of usable space on the bottom floor and top deck and 200 sq.m. of branding/advertising space, the SLPro proofed to be the perfect tool for this type of event where mobility, flexibility and tight schedules are the norm rather than the exception. The first floor hosted the live entertainment while the second floor was transformed in a VIP lounge area for the VIP guests, artists and celebrities.
Well known SABC personalities such as Connie Ferguson (Generations), Fezile Makhanya (SABC1 Brand ambassador), Zizo Beda (Yo TV Presenter), Rapulana Sephemo (Muvhango), Freedom Hadebe (7de Laan), Diaan Lawrenson (7de Laan), Caroline Jacobs (7de Laan) and SABC Children’s Show Dub graced the event and rendered entertainment. A local band, Zik Zak, Lois, well known Hip Hop Pantsula (HHP) and Shine 4 took part in this interactive show, where the audience got the chance to interact with their celebrities.
The next road show that AnointedM will undertake with SABC is planned for the end of May with five shows in KwaZulu-Natal.

JAN TUISBLY CONCERT - 29 March 2008
Greatness lies in the production...
Regardless of the artist line-up that draws the crowd, it is the sound, lighting and staging that make or break the show!
For the first Jan Tuisbly Concert that was presented at the Voortrekkermonument in Pretoria, by Jannie Moolman's company, M4 Artist Management, Anointed M put together a spectacular production of sound and lighting. Utilizing the new SL Pro-stage, Chris Serfontein and his team blew the industry and onlookers away with the time-saving, professional manner in which the stage was rigged.
Accommodating more than 15 popular Afrikaans artists and bands (Karen Zoid, Kurt Darren, Jannie Moolman, Bok van Blerk, Klopjag, Blackie Swart, Coenie de Villiers etc.) at this concert, Anointed M proofed that they have lifted the benchmark of staging for festivals and events by importing the multi-leveled SL Pro and the smaller, all aluminum SL100 stages. The traditional set-up and breakdown times for events of this magnitude has greatly been reduced and the end result looks much more attractive when caculationg time, cost and over-all appearance - gone are the days of shabby-looking, plastic-covered stages that need to be inspected, checked and re-examined before approved as secure and safe.
Although the procedure is still needed and applicable, it is no longer a dreaded job, leaving holes in the paving for any of the involved parties - a few hours after the event attended by 2 000 supporters and the Voortrekkermonument's Amphi-theatre looks exactly the same as when the last wagon-wheel broke ground!
The Afrikaners took the bold step of crossing the Drakensberg many years ago, how relevant that they once again; with this concert, was the first to showcase an event to be remembered by an outstanding production of sound, lighting and staging! |
